Happy National Physical Therapy Month!

Happy October!

Did you know that October is National Physical Therapy Month?  We get to celebrate and promote the good work that we do with the hope that you #chooseptfirst.

A few things I'd like to highlight:

1. You can see a PT without a prescription from a doctor

We are educated to evaluate and treat musculoskeletal disorders. You do NOT have to delay care. Studies show that going to a PT early will reduce the length of episodes and cut down on costs. In NYS  you will need a referral after 10 visits or within 30 days from the start of care. If you need to find a physician we can help you find one that is appropriate.

2. PTs don't only help you when you are in pain

According to the Department of Health and Human Services, 80% of adults do not get enough physical activity.  A direct consequence of this is that 117 million people have one or more chronic diseases. What are some of the things that might hold people back from getting started on a routine? Fear of getting hurt, not knowing where to begin, pain, age, length of time away from activity. It is within the scope of PT practice to help you remove the barriers that might be in the way of getting you on the path to health and wellness.

Whether it is time to deal with an injury or you are looking to return to fitness, I am here to help. Please reach out or refer a friend, loved one, or colleague.

I will be resuming online yoga classes on 10/20 @ 6 pm. They will be every Wednesday until December 15. Please let me know if interested and I will add you to Zoom links!

I had the pleasure of being the guest on the podcast, The Heart of Healing. We had a lovely chat about PT, yoga, and how much healing is needed as we move forward from the pandemic. Listen to the episode below!
