Oh, the Things I’ve Learned…
Look who’s TWO! Shannon Leggett Physical Therapy officially went full-time in May of 2021. I am going to be cliché and report that it HAS been a journey.
Some things I’ve learned:
It’s a rollercoaster, but you learn to trust.
You learn to accept that not all decisions are great decisions but making mistakes is part of the game.
You have to be patient (so hard).
You need fellow entrepreneurs. #IYKYK
You work really hard but are WAY more fulfilled.
You have to make choices and miss out on some things.
Delegate the things that you really don’t like to do (my books!).
You have to schedule time for yourself (like lunch and workouts) — if I’m not healthy mentally and physically, things suffer.
You have to talk to a LOT of people and walk into rooms even though you are secretly sweating (getting better at this).
I AM good at what I do but I’m not going to be everyone’s cup of tea.
Boundaries. BOUNDARIES (getting better at this too) I turned down a new patient last week because they wanted weekends. Last year that NEVER would have happened!
Rest, cry, accept the long days, lean into the quiet days (they don’t last long).
Someone is always rooting for you, thinking of you. When things get lonely and hard, I find the phone always rings.
There is no such thing as perfect.
I do things when I’m ready for them. If it takes two years for something to come to life, so be it.
The freedom is AWESOME but you’re kind of always tethered. The harmony is an art.
Most of All:
I have the most amazingly, loyal clients. You “put me on the map” years ago and word of mouth is my biggest source of referrals. I’m incredibly grateful. Thank you for ALWAYS keeping me in mind.
Let’s see what the next year brings.
